Cuisinart's CleanWater‏ Countertop Filtration System Review

Cuisinart is introducing an affordable and convenient means of providing healthier, filtered water for the entire family, without relying on bottles. The Cuisinart CleanWater Countertop Filtration System is available in a 2-gallon capacity unit and1.5-gallon capacity unit that comes with two fast flow spigots for dispensing hot, cold or room-temperature filtered water, as well as an Energy Saver mode that cuts energy use by 50 percent when the function is engaged.

The unit also has red/blue LED indicators that light up when the water has reached hot/cold temperatures, and a green LED indicator that signifies that the unit is in Energy Saver mode. The Energy Saver switch can be used to turn off the heater when hot water is not needed to reduce the system’s energy usage by more than 50 percent.

My thoughts:

A few years ago, I use to drink soda and fruit juice mainly because my tap water tasted horrible. At that time, I just could not see myself drinking bottled water as I did not want to pay for something that was free in my home. But knowing that the water in my home contained contaminants, I did not want myself nor my family drinking it. After being skeptical of bottled water for so long, eventually I decided that I would start purchasing it as I know the importance of my family drinking water as it does have it's benefits.

Sadly, once I started to buy bottled water I noticed that I was spending way too much money as we were buying at least 12 cases and unfortunately they did not last a week. I have looked around for cheaper alternatives but none were suitable for my family. So recently I was contacted by Cuisinart to review the CleanWater‏ Countertop Filtration System and I immediately thought it was the perfect fit so I decided to try it.

The set-up of the system was extremely easy and did not take any time at all. The only thing that was a bit time consuming was cleaning the filter for the first use which took about 30 minutes. Once this process was finished I filled the water tank up and waited a few hours as I wanted it to assure that nothing went wrong. I first tried out some hot cocoa which was nice and hot as I like it. The only problem I had with this machine so far is the water comes out slowly. Which is not a huge problem as I know it takes times to switch from hot and cold. Other than that everything else has been perfect.
