A few years ago, I made the biggest mistake by getting my hair chemically processed at a Salon. I have always managed to take care of my own hair without any problems but unfortunately my thick curls started to get the best of me or should I say my hands. I thought that if I got my hair chemically straightened that my hair would be more manageable and easier to maintain BOY WAS I WRONG.
The week of having my hair chemically processed, I started to notice that my thick hair was starting to shred by the handful. Sadly the shedding became worst overtime to where their was nothing I could do but cry. My brush, sink and bathtub were all filled with hair while my eyes were filled with warm tears streaming down my face.
Given that my hair is still weak from the chemical process, I normally wait at least a week between washes as my hair is not strong enough to wash it every other day yet Luckily, I was introduced to a fun little product called Batiste Dry Shampoo. Unlike traditional shampoos, Batiste can be used without the use of water. Basically, if you don't have time to go through the full washing process all you do is spay a little Batiste to your hair and you are good to go.
Mama's Recommendations on usage
For the best results, I highly recommend that you shake the bottle several times before applying the dry shampoo to your hair. Once you have completed this step hold the can at least 12 inches from your hair and spray until your entire head is covered from root to end. Note your hair will be extremely white, which is normal. Next step: Massage the spray until it's evenly distributed over your entire head and let it set for 60 seconds until all dirt and oils are absorbed. Then take a brush and start from your roots and gently remove all excess dry shampoo and dirt from hair. I highly recommend a hard brush like the one seen HERE.
Overall, I feel this is a really cool product. However you should only use the dry shampoo between regular washes as it's not meant to replace your shampoo and conditioner. It's only suppose to be used to freshen up your hair and remove any oils that are starting to build-up between your regular washes. The scents are cool and extremely feminine, which I like. I have used these a lot and have had wonderful results when I used them as I mentioned above. But as with any product individual results may vary but this has worked on my thin and brittle hair.
If you would like to try Batiste Dry Shampoo it is currently available at Ulta.com and retails for $7.99

@Shop with Me Mama, I completely agree as it is a great way to freshen up your hair on those busy days with the kids as it saves time before your next wash.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment!
@Brittany Savannah you should definitely give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI will stop by your blog shorty and thanks so much for the lovely award.
I wish I saw this review before I bought the TRESemme's dry shampoo! Ugh the TRESemme's dry shampoo make my hair greasier than before, hopefully this will work better for me!
ReplyDeleteI love this product!!! Did you that now in addition to these versions? They have one for blonde hair and one for dark hair? SO no white residue. I like the blonde on because besides freshening my hair- it does cover the roots some and extends time between coloring. Look for it too.
ReplyDeleteI do also like the Suave one-- smells like grapefruit and is on about 3 bucks.
