Celebrating 11 Beautiful Years of Marriage

For most of us love in its truest form comes from the heart. Love is not to be mistaken for materialistic items, false forms of expressions or empty words with no value. Some may not know this but "true love" is what comes from the soul. You may can't physically see it but you can most definitely feel it when it's pure. You'll know as you will get those little butterflies in the pit of your stomach for the first time.

Personally, I thought I understood this, I honestly thought I knew "how" to love. But the truth of the matter is I was wrong, I knew absolutely nothing......until I met my darling husband Dewain. He taught me not by words alone, corny poetry or false words, but through his actions. He DEDICATED his life and pledged to love me and so far he has been very loyal. I was totally exposed, vulnerable, and had absolutely nothing to give him in return....I was completely lost.

My husband taught me that loving "myself first" was the only real way for me to open my heart to love him. Before dedicating ourselves into "marriage" we both imagined one another with absolutely nothing. I am not just referring to material things but "nothing" as in being alone with no one to love, care or share life with. Funny thing, we both internally imagined one another as being incomplete and stripped of everything. This is what allowed us both to see our truest inner thoughts of what was in our hearts, and for that we became complete.

Once we knew that we were meant to be, he gazed softly into my brown-eyes and said those four magical words "Will you marry me". From that moment I felt as though I was the most happiest girl in the world and I finally met my "Prince Charming" in the form of Dewain. I said to myself how can I not say "I do" to my beautiful surprise loving me not only with his heart but with his soul. He took me for who I am and accepted not only me but my beautiful daughter Kayla, for that I felt butterflies for the first time and accepted his hand in Marriage.

We have been married for 11 beautiful years and have three of the most beautiful children in the world. And honestly, I feel that my life is complete. Dewain has motivated me and inspired me to be the woman that I have always wanted to be.  I truly hope that I can be that woman for him for the rest of our lives together. I just want to thank him for what he has given to me and so far he has given me the greatest gift which is love. Without Dewain, I am nothing but with him I am everything. I wouldn't be who I am without him, loving me totally, genuinely, authentically....pure in all since of the word.

I am posting this today in hopes of inspiring others to continue to push and look outside of yourself and see the possibilities as that special someone may be standing right in front of you. Don't ever feel that it wont happen to you as love in it's truest form may come when you least expect it. Never forget that it may take a lot of dead end streets before you find that road to happiness, but believe me when I say it will come with time, patience and a strong will to love. Remember that love is not wanting someone for what they have or what they can give you it's about knowing that you can both complete one another and become "one".
