COOL WHIP: Everyday Treats

Spring has finally sprung and I've just begun to come up with some toothsome goodies that my family can enjoy. Now that it's "Spring Break" the Munchkins wanted to do something fun in the kitchen. Hot Dogs and Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches are very flavorsome BUT we wanted something that would embrace the real "Sweetness of Spring". Is there such a thing? So, we put our heads together to come up with something we all love.

What we wanted was trapped in a container ready to come out and fill our Spring with JOY. You're probably scratching your head wondering what it is?  It's COOL WHIP Whipped Topping - You know that creamy white stuff that comes in the Blue and White container - yeah that stuff.

My kids and I wanted to make a fun dessert - so we decided to make some Banana Pudding because it's quick and easy. Yes, I know what you're thinking - what's so special about BANANA PUDDING. It's not what we made that was special BUT the time we spent together in the kitchen. I'll share our recipe below - it's not all that special OR different - just something we made with LOVE and of course......COOL WHIP.

Banana Pudding

1 (11oz) Box of Nabisco Nilla Wafers
3 to 4 Banana's, thinly sliced
3 Cups of Cold Milk
2 (3.4oz) Boxes of Jello Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 (12oz.) container COOL WHIP

Banana Pudding

Pour milk into large mixing bowl. Gradually add in the dry pudding mixes. I used a stand mixers but this can be made by hand as well. Beat on low for approximately 2 minutes or until pudding starts to thicken.

Banana Pudding

Add in COOL WHIP and Beat on low for another minute or until the mixture looks a bit yellowish in color - Set Aside.

Banana Pudding

This is what it should look like (Above Photo)

Banana Pudding

Layer half the Nilla Wafers on the Bottom of the bowl and top with Bananas

Banana Pudding

Cover with the whipped topping mixture. Then Repeat until ALL wafers and banana's have been used. Oh, and if you like you can reserve 5 crushed cookies to top it ALL off. Refrigerate for 4 hours or Overnight. Then get ready for some Yummy Goodness....OH YEAH!!

Banana Pudding
Enjoy!
