DIY Gift Idea: Money Balloon

I found this idea, and I had to share it with everyone. My son is only 10 months old, so this idea would be for down the road when it comes to him and his friends, but if anyone has any school-aged nieces or nephews, this would be PERFECT. Instead of buying a card (which I hate spending money on) instead you can give a money balloon.

DIY Gift Idea: Money Balloon What you do is you roll several bills (you pick the denomination!) and stick them in a clear balloon. Then add a handful of confetti (I found that if you attach the bottom of the balloon to a funnel in order to add the confetti and money it works really well). The goal is to keep the balloon as light as possible so don't use too much confetti or use a rubber band to roll the bills.
Then you take the balloon to a balloon or a flower store and have it filled with helium. In order to keep the balloon from getting weighed down, I would have it filled shortly before you deliver it. You can then write a message directly on the balloon.

This is such a cute idea and I can't wait to have the opportunity to use it sometime.

  3. That is PERFECT! I'm not a fan of cards, because they always end up either in the trash or recycle bin, so this is a great alternative!
