Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People

Tough times won’t last, but tough people will. Many people have lost money and many are losing their jobs, homes, or at least making cutbacks. Many others have faced life-changing natural disasters, such as hurricanes and fires, as well as health and family difficulties. Chicken Soup for the Soul: Tough Times, Tough People is all about overcoming adversity, pulling together, making do with less, facing challenges, and finding new joys in a simpler life. The stories in this book will remind us that we are all going through tough times but we are tough people and we will survive.
Whether your going through a rough time or someone you know it can be the most difficult situation anyone has to face. This book has 101 amazing stories filled with passion and it captures your attention immediately. I'm always grateful for the things I have and where I am in life. But it saddens me deeply to see other people struggle but it also inspires me to see that they also can overcome whatever is thrown at them.
This is definitely a good book to read as you never know when the unexpected is going to happen. I will say that this book hit home in a lot of ways and I wasn't expecting that at all. For once I cried, smiled and I really felt connected with each and every story I read.
I'm not quite finished reading the book as of yet but I'm almost there, this is also my first time reading a book from Chicken Soup from the Soul and I can tell you now I'm now hooked.

ReplyDeleteThese are tough times, and so many people are affected. The Chicken Soup Series has a calming and comforting effect on people. If I won, after I read the book, I would pass it on to my friend's sister who lost her job in this economic stress.

I would love this book because I love true underdog stories! There's something about being able to survive against the odds that I find incredibly uplifting.
ReplyDeleteThe Chicken Soup books are so encouraging- I have enjoyed them for quite awhile now. And I feel that I am one of those people who are having "tough times" Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI went back to school because I couldn't find a job in my field. I could use some encouragement. Starting college at 44 has not been easy and there are so many things to juggle.
ReplyDeleteI've read other Chicken Soup books and have enjoyed them. I'd like to read this one as well. Looks like an encouraging book. Thanks.

After the last 5 years of an unbelievable list of never ending (it seems) cycle of not so pleasant things hitting our family a good book to lift the spirits would be just what the doctor ordered around here. A few members of my family would benefit from this book.
