My daughter Kayla just turned twelve this year and her room still has a barbie theme. Kayla has very unique taste when it comes to room decor so when shopping for new items for her room she never likes what's on display. Her favorite color is purple and it seems like everything that's made for tweens often comes in pink. Since she dislikes the color pink we never can make a decision when shopping.
Kayla was given the opportunity to makeover her room thanks to Walmart, Your Zone and Rockfish Interactive. I was so thrilled to be able to go shopping with her so we could spend some time together before she returned back to school.
The first thing we did was donated all of her old bedroom items to a local goodwill. Then we proceeded to Walmart to begin our $500 shopping spree. On our first visit we picked up the pillows, comforter, dust ruffle and carpets. Then a week later we purchased everything else to complete her room. We had a blast and I simply can't express how grateful we are to have experienced something like this.
Kayla and I both cried as she loves her room so much and can't believe it's hers. She actually asked me to wake her up out of her dream.
