Whether you go in the summer or fall, San Antonio, TX is an exciting
place to visit with your family. It is one of the most visited cities in
Texas and packed with fun things to do. If you are thinking about
taking a trip to this fine city in the near future, plan to stay there
for at least a week so that you can experience everything. Here are some
exciting activities you can do in San Antonio, TX with your family.
Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch
If you and your family like animals, you will definitely want to stop by
the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. When you are at this ranch, you will
see more than 500 different animals roaming free. As you are driving
through the ranch’s roadway, animals, such as giraffes, ostriches and
zebras, will actually walk up to your car. There is also a petting zoo
at this ranch where your kids can pet farm animals like goats, sheep and
pigs.
The Alamo
A trip to San Antonio
isn’t complete without visiting the Alamo. It has played a big part in
the Texas Revolution and is one of the most popular attractions in the
United States. At the Alamo, you will get to see fascinating exhibits
about the 13-day battle. Your kids will enjoy learning about the history
of Texas at this attraction and will find out fascinating facts about
battle heroes like Davey Crockett and James Bowie.
Kiddie Park
If
you have little ones, you must stop at the Kiddie Park. It is the
oldest children’s amusement park in the United States and offers classic
kid rides like the carousel, swings and train rides. When your kids get
hungry, stop at the snack bar to buy them some cotton candy or popcorn.
Before your leave, make sure to stop at the kiddie shop where you can
buy your kids t-shirts or maracas.
San Antonio River Walk
The
River Walk in San Antonio is a must see. It is filled with things to do
including restaurants, museums, shops and other attractions. You should
definitely take a dinner cruise with your family or hop on a river taxi
to get around. There are also many concerts and outdoor events held at
the River Walk, so make sure to check them out.
Magik Theatre
The
Magik Theatre is a place you have to visit when you are in San Antonio.
This theatre puts on plays based on children’s books such as the Jungle
Book and Charlotte’s Web. The Magik Theatre also offers summer camps,
an acting academy and workshops. Both children and adults will love
watching the plays held at this theatre.
San Antonio Children’s Museum
The
San Antonio Children’s Museum is made especially for kids and is a
great place for the entire family. It is filled with hands-on activities
and exhibits for your kids to enjoy including Science City, Victorian
Parlor, Farm to Market and Kid Powered Elevator.
Whether you choose to visit just one or all of these attractions, you will have a great time with your family in San Antonio.
