Not only flavorsome, this wondrous yellow cake topped with creamy cherry cream cheese frosting is a must-have for Valentine's Day or Special Occasions. You'll be able to enjoy the subtle flavor of cherries any time during the year with this tasty confection. For a slight change of pace, try using Wonka Cherry-Yum-Diddly Dip Fun Dips, they're truly AMAZING and they literally wake up the flavor of the cream cheese. Um, seriously!
And.
No one will ever know you used store-bought cake mix for this recipe, unless you tell them (And, we know you don't want to do that, right?). To make this cake extra special, try topping it with your favorite Nestlé candies (wrapped or unwrapped). We'd also like to thank Nestlé for providing us with all the wonderful Valentine's goodies to make our cake. Aren't they sweet (we definitely think so).
Yellow Cake with Cherry Cream Cheese Frosting
2 Cups of Whole Milk (Room Temperature)
3 Cups Powdered Sugar (Gently Sifted)
2 Sticks of Unsalted Butter (Room Temperature)
2 Tablespoons McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract
1 (8-ounce) Package of PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese (Softened)
4 Packets of Wonka Cherry-Yum-Diddly Dip Fun Dip
2 boxes of Betty Crocker SuperMoist Yellow Cake Mix
6 Large Eggs (Room Temperature)
Let's get down to the cakeness, shall we?
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, one stick of unsalted butter, yellow cake mix, eggs, and whole milk. Mix until nice and creamy, making sure there's no lumps present. It's very easy, I promise!
Don't forget the yummy stuff, the frosting!
In a large bowl, combine 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, powdered sugar, Wonka Cherry-Yum-Diddly Fun Dip, cream cheese, and unsalted butter. Mix until light and fluffy. You can add more powdered sugar, if you like.
It's Oven Time
Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Grease and flour two 9-inch square (or round) baking pans. Pour cake mixture evenly into cake pans, making sure to scape all cake from the bowl. Bake approximately 30 minutes or until wooden toothpick comes out clean, with no sign of loose batter. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes, then remove cake. Once completely cooled top both cakes with the cream cheese frosting.
