Um, it's no secret that people LOVE to get flowers on a special occasion, but the true testimony to the flower's enduring power is that fact that this has been a tradition for SO long without flagging at all in
popularity. And, flowers are as popular today as they were 50 or 100 years ago. The benefit NOW is that you can go to a site such as freshflowers.com.au and order them online, so they are easier than ever to buy and deliver. When you do this, you get the option to make a card that will be delivered along with them.
Now, if you would like, you can make the card as simple as possible. Just sign your name along with your love and call it a day. The flowers are going to speak for themselves, so not much more is needed. You just want to put your name on there so that your special someone knows that you sent them and that you were thinking about them on this day. This is fine, and the gift will be loved. However, if you really want to take things up a notch, you can put a heartfelt message in the card as well.
Some people will write this out on their OWN, relying on things that they know the other person loves or memories that they share. For example, perhaps these are flowers that you are getting for your wife on your 25th anniversary. You could talk about your wedding day all those years ago or your honeymoon and the fun that you two had together. These nostalgic, wonderful memories are sure to bring a tear to her eye. You can then tell her that you look forward to many more years of being able to make more memories just like that, so you can both prepare for an exciting future full of love and adventure.
If you're not good with words (like me) or if you are not sure how to get your feelings down on paper, you could always think about turning to another source. Is there a song that the two of you love? Take some of the lyrics and use them as your message. Is there a book that you know your wife likes to read often? Find a passage about love to add to the card. You could also look to poetry, which provides many beautiful passages.

I always tell my husband not to waste money buying me flowers, but then I'll complain that he never surprises me with flowers. I can never make up my mind, lol.

ReplyDeleteI like to give flower arrangements every now and then. I always try to include something memorable in the card, just to show I'm really thinking about the person receiving them.
ReplyDeleteI'm the worst about sending out flowers. What a nice service.
ReplyDeleteNothing brightens a room, or a cruddy day, like beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you could get flowers sent like that - maybe even exotic flowers? That would be awesome for a wedding.
ReplyDeleteI love giving and receiving flowers!
ReplyDeleteFlowers are always such a great gift. They make my entire home smell great!
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful photo. This time of year here in Maine fresh garden flowers seem a long way away. I keep African violets indoors, though, so even if we're not buying fresh flowers, we have some pretty blossoms to brighten up the house. It is fun to get flowers, though, and sending them is always a nice gesture.
ReplyDeleteI love floral arrangements in the home. It really transforms a dining room when there is a beautiful arrangement of fresh flowers

ReplyDeleteI love getting flowers, especially when it is unexpected. That is the best.
ReplyDeleteI love flowers my favorite is red roses or Gardenias!
ReplyDeleteI am so not a flower person. I freak out if my husband spends money buying me flowers that die so fast when he could have taken me out to dinner or bought me a massage or something that I could really use. Now if he just grabs some at the little slower shop in the train station for their weekly $10 special then that's okay. :)
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of them. I really love getting flowers!
ReplyDeleteI love flowers, any kind is just fine by me.
ReplyDeleteI would be at a loss now that my florist friend is out of the business.
ReplyDeleteI had daisies in my bouquet, simple and sweet.
ReplyDeleteLyrics or a poem would make a wonderful & thoughtful addition to a card!
ReplyDeleteI definitely sometimes like to give flowers
ReplyDeleteI'm not big on cut flowers (although they are pretty, I just prefer that my husband spend money on something else if he wants to do something nice) - my Mom though, she LOVES them, and I know I could buy a bouquet of flowers for her at anytime and she would be very appreciative of them.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy receiving flowers! Our anniversary was last week and my husband brought home a beautiful bouquet. It certainly had been awhile.
ReplyDeleteI used to hate getting flowers as a gift, but as long as it's a mixed bouquet, I like it now. A sweet love message is even better!
