Teens are rebellious by nature and they almost always have these certain ideas of their own that they want to go with. This is something that parents need to keep in mind when decorating their teen's bedroom. Sometimes no matter how elegant or clever you try to go with the decor, it simply may not please them.
So how do you really tackle this problem? By understanding the fact that teens are mostly inclined to be bold/creative in their own way and they want this to be reflected in their room. Once you know this, it’ll be easier for you to decorate and work on your teen’s bedroom in a way that he or she loves.

Once you know this, it’ll be easier for you to decorate and work on your teen’s bedroom in a way that he or she loves.
1. Select the Right Paint
When it comes to painting your teen’s bedroom, you should go with his or her favorite color. Yes even if that means that the color doesn’t go with your own tastes. The reason for this is - your teen is going through a phase where he or she wants the room to reflect their tastes/choices. So before you choose the color for their room, discuss with your teen to find out what color/moods would reflect his or her personality.
2. Create the Right Theme
Theming is important when you’re decorating your teen’s room. You need to create the theme in accordance to his or her lifestyle choices or regular activity. For example, your teen may be into rock music, and he or she wants a room that demonstrates their passion towards rock. Themes work great when it comes to unifying the overall elements in the bedroom and make the decorations pleasing to the eye. There could be many different theme ideas that you can incorporate in your teen’s room if you speak about it with him or her beforehand. Let him or her decide on what kind of decor they are looking for.
3. Add the Right Furniture
Furniture that you choose for your teen’s bedroom should be one that organizes his or space, rather than cluttering it up even more. Organization is important because teenagers tend to have a ton of things lying around - everything from school books to clothes to other materials. You need to give them a way to display their belongings in a neat and convenient manner.
4. Use the Right Accessories
There’s no doubt about the fact that accessories make up an important part of a teen’s room. It’s mainly because teenager’s want their bedroom to have that trendy and cool look to it. For this you can do things like adding a headboard painted by your teen or simple hang collages and pictures fixed in frames that are decorated in accordance to the room’s overall look. There are a ton of ways to get creative when it comes accessories so don’t limit yourself.
