Hello lovelies! How y'all been? Can you believe it's almost November? Um, time sure does fly, right? Fall is HERE and winter is quickly approaching which means the cold (and flu) season is almost upon us! Yikes! I loathe the cold and flu season, don't you? It's HORRENDOUS!! Being sick isn't pleasant and it truly sucks!! Tired of being sick? Um, who isn't right? Just because your family is SICK, doesn't mean you have to get sick, too! YAY! There's hope. By practicing a little proactive prevention — you'll be able to keep yourself healthy during the cold and flu season. And, one of the most easiest and effective ways to stay healthy during the fall and winter months is to thoroughly wash your hands. When you're out and about during the fall and winter — that's when germs seem to flourish and it isn't difficult to pick them up by touching things like grocery carts, door knobs and telephones. Pretty scary, right? The easiest way to keep those nasty little germs from entering your body is to prevent them from moving from your hands to your nose, mouth OR eyes — which are the TOP areas where the germs love to invade your body.

To stay on top of the cold and flu during the winter and fall, there's a wonderful little tool that predicts when the cold and flu will reach your area. How cool, right? Cold and flu season has always been unpredictable. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), although epidemics of cold and flu happen every year, the timing, severity, and length of the season varies from one year to another. That means that the cold and flu can hit your family without warning, and if you aren’t prepared with cold and flu essentials like Kleenex Everyday Tissue, you might be left scrambling and playing catch up after sickness has entered your home.
Here's the forecast predictor for Sacramento, look like we're good!
When you're feeling a little sick, drink plenty of fluids. They really do help. Not only is staying hydrated essential for keeping your body working properly, it also HELPS to flush out fats from your system. Cover. Cover. Cover. Um, covering your mouth when you cough (or sneeze) is another way to stay healthy during the cold and flu season. Plus, it helps prevent the spread of germs, which we're all trying to steer clear of, right?

What do you use if you have no Kleenex Tissues?
I'm praying the flu stays away from us this year!!
ReplyDeleteI got my flu shot but I also have about four boxes of Kleenex in the cabinet, just in case!
ReplyDeleteI've got my stash ready to get me through the winter!
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too many tissues when you have kiddos in school. Hopefully, we will continue to avoid major outbreaks this year.
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too many tissues when you have kiddos in school. We hope that we avoid any major outbreaks this year.
ReplyDeleteThat flu predictor map is great, it told me that in 21 days our chances are high. Guess I'll be staying home for Thanksgiving LOL.
ReplyDeleteWe always have Kleenex in the house - and my purse, and my car. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI so hope we can avoid the flu this year. I still need to get my flu shot. My son got the flu mist, so we are being as proactive as we can. I need to stock up on Kleenex.
ReplyDeleteWe just use TP when we run out. It's more expensive and rougher on your nose though!
ReplyDeleteWe have already had confirmed cases of the flu around my area. My kids and I got our flu shots a couple of weeks ago and we wash our hands like crazy during this season.
ReplyDeleteI always keep tons of kleenex around because when kids come home from school and bring something like the flu, it's miserable! Hopefully our flu shots this year will help.
ReplyDeleteWe all got our flu shots so I'm hoping we don't get it this year! We never run out of Kleenex. We buy them in bulk because we're a big Kleenex family with lots of allergies!
ReplyDeleteI hate the flu, always get the flu shot, but am slacking thusfar, better get on that :D
ReplyDeletei really hoping i dont get the flu.

This is the one downfall of Winter, cold and flu's! I always try and have soft Kleenex's and such on hand just in case I catch a cold.
ReplyDeleteWhatever we can get our hands on! My sons are boogery.
ReplyDeleteI am so not ready for winter.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the Achoo website, my area is at medium risk, but I'm here to tell you that it has arrived. I've been pretty much knocked out by a bad cold all week and I've been doing everything I can to make sure nobody else gets it. Fortunately, I had stocked up on tissues so I was all set.
ReplyDeleteWe've managed to avoid the flu and many other major yuckies for the past few years. I'm hoping to keep our good luck this season and it's great to know our area is listed as low.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a little bug around here this week, not enough to halt progress, but a reminder of the season rolling in.
ReplyDeleteI got a flu shot but am still leery of getting a cold. I have my Kleenex and other supplies ready just in case.
ReplyDeleteI'm so not looking forward to cold and flu season.
ReplyDeleteWe've been using Boogie wipes for the kiddos when there are no Kleenex around.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see Florida is low!
ReplyDeleteI love that tip about antibiotics! But it's so easy to sucuumb to that wheen we are not getting better!
ReplyDeleteI used to use my sleeves when I didn't have a kleenex - I've grown up a bit ;-) Great info!
ReplyDeleteWe stocked up on Kleenex during the back to school sales, so we're prepared! :)
ReplyDeleteMy youngest and I both have colds right now :( I hope it stops with us instead of going to my husband and oldest. We only use Kleenex because they are the strongest and softest tissue

ReplyDeleteI love the predictor idea! How neat.
ReplyDeleteI love the predictor idea. How neat!
ReplyDeleteThis is the time of the year when my sons asthma starts acting up. I always have tons of Kleenex in the house!
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat! I feel like we are a little safer now that we are homeschooling, but it doesn't hurt to keep an eye on things.
ReplyDeletewe are getting our flu shots and crossing our fingers we stay relatively healthy! But we will definitely have a ton of kleenex on hand
ReplyDeleteIf we have no tissue it's usually wipes or tp -- or my son's sock like we had to resort to the other day in the car...
ReplyDeleteugh, i catch my youngest using the shoulder of his shirt :(
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat way to keep up with any flu outbreaks. We don't do the flu shots but we always have lots of Kleenex on hand.
ReplyDeleteI need to get more to stock up for winter.
ReplyDeleteI settle for napkins, paper towels, or toilet paper but in a pinch, my sleeve.
ReplyDeleteAnd when I say pinch....I mean serious EMERGENCY. lol
ReplyDeleteUgh, I'm sick right now. Sick and pregnant sucks. I'm out of Kleenex. I need some but don't want to go to the store.
ReplyDeleteMy prediction shows low for the next 21 days... Fun app. Thanks.

If I don't have any tissues I end up using some toilet paper.
ReplyDeleteI have been using my fair share of kleenex this week thanks to the latest round of sniffle :/
ReplyDeleteI love the flu map! We use Kleenex - as a matter of fact - I am headed to Sam's to buy more today!
ReplyDeleteTotally off topic, but I didn't know you're from Sacramento! We were just up there on Tuesday visiting family. Small world.
ReplyDeleteI played with this site and learned that in a couple weeks, we'll be entering into medium risk - yikes...
